I’ve read your recent blog and especially like the quotation that urges us to “seek not love but rather seek the barriers within us that inhibit us from finding or giving love.” Obviously I have put my own interpretation to your poet’s words.
I am a novice on the ‘path of the heart’ but fully see the value of staying in the moment and revering all that is. One of my favourite poets supports this too in the footnote to his epic poem HOWL:
Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy!
Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy!
The world is holy! The soul is holy! The skin is holy!
The nose is holy! The tongue and cock and hand
and asshole holy!
Everything is holy! everybody’s holy! everywhere is
holy! everyday is in eternity! Everyman’s an
angel!
The bum’s as holy as the seraphim! the madman is
holy as you my soul are holy!
When this sentiment began to inhabit my consciousness I felt my heart opening to people I had previously not seen even when I was among them. And I found that my friend Mona felt this sentiment deeply and lived it too, even though she couldn’t articulate the idea convincingly without shouting 9 (at me at least). Although one day she did say “all that is, is divine.” Then I knew that she and Ginsberg were ‘cousins’…..and I began to feel like a brother.
Keep writing. I’ll keep reading…
